“I celebrated my 14th, 15th, and 16th birthdays there,” Jelly Roll shared at the unveiling ceremony, emphasizing the profound impact the center had on his life. His goal is to provide today’s youth with the same opportunities for growth and rehabilitation that he received.

“Get rid of stuff that makes you feel like a caged animal,” he urged, emphasizing the need for an environment where young people feel valued and respected. He believes in providing them with a real chance at a brighter future, breaking free from the cycle of incarceration.
The Nashville Juvenile Court’s website echoes this sentiment, describing the new facility as a “family-oriented, trauma-informed campus.” Slated for completion in 2027, the expansive 14-acre site will house a range of resources, including support services for struggling families, a 24-hour crisis center for youth, courtrooms, and ample meeting spaces.

This isn’t Jelly Roll’s first act of generosity towards the facility that played such a pivotal role in his life. In 2022, he donated a recording studio, a dream that came to fruition in May 2024. This studio serves as a creative outlet for the youth, allowing them to explore their passions and express themselves through music.
“It’s important, man,” Jelly Roll shared in an interview, “I think it’s important that we give back, especially [to] our kids … They were born into just whatever situation it was, and sometimes they can’t see past that situation or that neighborhood or that environment.”
