Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad were bestowed with the Royal Order of Vasa as Commanders of the First Class. The ceremony, a testament to their enduring legacy, took place at the Royal Palace in Stockholm.

This prestigious award acknowledges ABBA’s profound impact on both Swedish and international music. Their catchy melodies and innovative sound have captivated audiences worldwide for decades. The Royal Order of Vasa, revived in late 2022 after being dormant for 50 years, recognizes individuals for their outstanding service to Sweden. ABBA’s nomination, a testament to their cultural significance, was approved by King Carl XVI Gustaf.
